1Information We Collect

To create personalized stories, the Service collects the following information that you (the parent/guardian) provide directly:

• Family & child photos — up to 5 photos used as the story’s backdrop
• Voice recordings — a parent’s or child’s voice used to narrate the story
• Child details — name, age, gender, and favorite things used as story material
• Account information — email, name, profile picture, and a unique ID (UID) when you sign in with Google
• Generated stories — the title, text, and translations created by AI from the above

2How We Use Information

Collected information is used solely for the following purposes:

• Generating and narrating personalized stories from your photos, voice, and child details
• Saving your stories and letting you view them again
• Signing you in and identifying your account

3Where & How Data Is Stored

We store data in different locations depending on its nature:

• Original child/family photos — stored only on your device. They are not uploaded to our cloud servers; only the file’s path is recorded in our database.
• Original voice recordings — sent to our voice-AI provider (ElevenLabs) for voice cloning; the cloned voice model is stored and retained on ElevenLabs’ servers. A temporary file may remain on your device. The original voice is not permanently stored in the cloud database we directly operate.
• Generated stories, child details, voice identifiers, and account information — stored on Google Firebase (cloud).

4Third-Party Processing & International Transfer

To generate stories and operate the Service, we entrust processing to the following third parties, and some information is transferred internationally (to the United States):

5Retention & Deletion

• Information you save in the Service (stories, child details, account) is retained until you request deletion or stop using the Service.
• Uninstalling the app deletes locally stored photos and temporary voice files. However, stories, child details, and account data stored on Firebase, as well as the voice model sent to ElevenLabs for cloning, are not automatically deleted and remain stored. For full deletion, please request it under Section 6.

7Children’s Privacy

HaruStory creates stories for children and processes a child’s name, age, photos, and voice. Such children’s information is processed on the premise that a parent/guardian enters and manages it directly, under the guardian’s responsibility and consent, and solely for the purpose of creating stories.

We do not separately collect children’s information without guardian consent, nor provide it to third parties for marketing.

8Security Measures

We apply reasonable security measures such as encryption in transit (HTTPS). Note that photos, voice, and text are sent to external AI services for story generation, and the security of transmitted data follows each provider’s policy.

9Changes to This Policy

This policy may be amended in response to legal or service changes. We will announce any changes within the Service or on this page.
